Tramlines was established in 2024 to power the development of upstream food production via established agritech enterprises whose technology is proven. What’s in a name?

“I remember leaning on the fence of our Cheshire dairy farm with my father, surveying the strange double lines that had appeared in a neighbour’s barley. It must have been about 1974.

“Tramlines,” said Dad. “Meant to direct the machinery. Look like a waste of time to me, and a waste of fertile land”.

By the following year, we were doing it too: my first observation of innovation driving change in agriculture.”

We help our businesses source development capital. As our USP, Tramlines also provides capital for our top agriculture and agritech projects via our own balance sheet, typically in the form of direct equity investment or convertible loans starting at £1m.
